About Us

Driven by our passion for excellence, we can help you help your clients and patients get the procedures they need in your own practice – with minimal disruption to your workflow.

Working in emergency medicine, we are privileged to see so many patients from all over the Lower Mainland. It also allows us to see that there is a need for a value-added service such as ours. We understand how crucial workflow is to allow your practices to run smoothly and efficiently. We understand that the unexpected happens. We understand that there may be financial reasons behind an owner not being able to be referred out of your practice. We see examples of each of these and more every day. That is why we developed Mountain Valley Mobile Veterinary Anesthesia and Surgery (MVMVAS) to be your surgery and anesthesia solution.

We assign each patient an ASA status in order to individualize their anesthetic protocols. Read more about it here.

Dr Nina

Dr Nina Gauthier DVM

Dr Nina Gauthier DVM was born and raised in Montréal, Québec. After attending veterinary school in Guelph at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), she and her husband moved the whole family out West in 2018. Nina’s mentor in Montréal, Dr Amanda Glew, appreciated her keen interest in surgery early on and coached her for over 5 years. This allowed her to gain experience, confidence, and efficiency in general surgery. Since living in BC, she works as an emergency veterinarian, an instructor for Veterinary Assistants at the University of the Fraser Valley, and has done several general practice locums. With 3 beautiful children who keep her on her toes, and 2 fluffy senior chihuahuas who have been her constant companions through every move and every life event for more than 12 years, her days are full. Nina enjoys staying fit (and sane) with CrossFit, yoga, and hiking, and loves snowshoeing and kayaking. She has a distinct love of food, wine, and spirits and started the Women & Whisk(e)y club in Abbotsford to bring local women together and learn about whisky and each other.

Kristine Watson, RVT

Kristine Watson, RVT was lucky enough to be born and raised right here in the Lower Mainland and has always had a love of animals. At the tender age of 2 she was already riding horses, and by age 5 she knew she would make improving the lives and care of animals her life’s work. As a teenager, she fell in love with the art of dressage and competed in multiple local and regional shows, and even participated in 2 Young Rider National competitions. To fund her equestrian passion, she worked with the Canadian Paralympic Dressage Coach, worked sales at a tack shop, and monitored patients overnight with Paton and Martin Veterinary Equine Hospital. Starting in the veterinary field in 2010, she graduated as a RVT in 2013 and has worked in specialty and emergency practice since. Through those experiences, she developed her passion and expertise in anesthesia and analgesia and has been working on her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Anesthesia & Analgesia. When her days are not filled with emergency and anesthesia work, she loves to be with her two Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, Kali and Billie. An avid outdoors person, she loves hiking, camping in the bush, and tasting wine around BC.
